I have a confession… 🎈 During the pandemic (hi, 2020), I decided I was done with live entertainment at events. No balloon twisting. No shows. None of it. After 20 years of hustling, I was exhausted. I was tired of: • physically sacrificing my body • blowing out my voice at loud events • missing my own kids’ games & theatre shows • being “Mr. Rogers nice” to people who didn’t deserve that energy 😓🫠 So… I semi-retired from performing. Instead, I dove head-first into balloon décor 🎈 Yes, it’s still labor-intensive — but I got my voice back, my energy back, and about 50% of my weekends back 🙌 And for the first time, I was getting paid what I actually deserved per hour 🤩 But here’s the thing… Sometimes the universe refuses to let you put your best gifts in a closet. Last year, my agent called. A client wanted me. My skills. My way of working. On tour. At my rate. With respect. And still time with my family. So… I came out of retirement. Just for them. ✨ The lesson: 1️⃣ Sometimes you don’t quit — you just need a long break. 2️⃣ Know your worth. When you’re paid well, treated well, and supported properly… you love your work again.
